MR Incentive Calculator
What is an MR incentive calculator?
A Medical Representative (MR) is usually paid a salary plus an incentive linked to how much business they generate against a monthly target. This calculator lets an MR โ or a manager โ quickly see the target achievement percentage and the incentive payout for a given month, so there are no surprises on payday and it is easy to plan how hard to push in the last week of the month.
MR incentive formula
- Achievement % = Sales achieved รท Target ร 100
- Incentive = Sales achieved ร Incentive %
Worked example
Achievement = 115%
Incentive = 3,45,000 ร 2% = โน6,900 ยท Sales above target = โน45,000
How MR incentive structures usually work
Companies design incentives in different ways. Some pay a flat percentage on total sales once the target is met. Others pay only on the sales above target. Many use slabs โ a higher percentage as achievement crosses 100%, 120% and so on. This calculator uses the simple “percent on achieved sales” model; if your company pays only above target or in slabs, treat the result as an indicative figure and apply your own rule.
Why MRs should track this themselves
Knowing your achievement percentage mid-month tells you exactly how much more you need to sell to hit the next incentive level. MRs who track their own numbers โ rather than waiting for the month-end statement โ consistently plan their last-week field work better and earn more. The same maths also helps anyone planning to move from an MR role into their own PCD franchise understand the economics of the business.
